Biomedical community will celebrate at NIC
Biomedical students and researchers will converge on the North Idaho College campus starting today to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the state’s largest biomedical education and research program.
The annual conference of the Idaho IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence, based at the University of Idaho, is expected to draw 160 students and researchers through Wednesday. The program has received nearly $25 million from the National Institutes of Health and the National Center for Research Resources, according to a UI press release. Celeste Brown, a UI researcher, will lead a session about bioinformatics – how computers can be used to analyze an immense amount of genetic information. She’ll talk about integrating that technology into Idaho classrooms.
