Leslie leads playoff-bound Sparks past Lynx

Lisa Leslie scored 24 points to lead the playoff-bound Los Angeles Sparks to a 76-59 victory over the visiting Minnesota Lynx on Sunday night.

Murriel Page added 14 points and Doneeka Hodges-Lewis had a career-high nine assists for the Sparks, who enter the playoffs with the league’s best home record at 15-2. They had already clinched the Western Conference division title.

Los Angeles will open the playoffs Friday at Seattle.

Shock 88, Sun 55: At Auburn Hills, Mich., Deanna Nolan scored 19 points and Cheryl Ford added a double-double as Detroit clinched home-court advantage in the first round of the WNBA playoffs with a win over Connecticut in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Sky 80, Fever 73: At Indianapolis, All-Star forward Candice Dupree scored 24 points to lead Chicago to a win over Indiana. The Sky narrowly avoided the first 30-loss season in the WNBA’s 10-year history.

Liberty 93, Mystics 81: At New York, Shameka Christon and Cathrine Kraayeveld scored 22 points apiece, and Becky Hammon had 21 to lead New York to a victory over playoff-bound Washington in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Mercury 81, Monarchs 71: At Phoenix, Diana Taurasi scored 29 points to lead Phoenix to its seventh straight win with a victory over Sacramento.

Taurasi won the league scoring title, averaging a WNBA-record 25.3 points a game for Phoenix, which finished in a tie for third in the Western Conference.
