Lionel Greenwood named to parks panel

A retired insurance broker with an extensive volunteer record has been appointed to the Spokane County Parks Advisory Committee.

Lionel Greenwood, 67, was nominated to the board by County Commissioner Todd Mielke and appointed to the position earlier this month. Greenwood succeeds Robert Bates, whose term expired.

Among other leadership positions he holds, Greenwood is a member of the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation board and a trustee for the Spokane Symphony.

The advisory board is a volunteer group that advises the County Commission on park and recreation issues.
