SCRAPS overflowing with cats

The Spokesman-Review

Officials at SCRAPS say the cat population is booming – and it’s getting too big for them to handle.

There are more cats than the shelter can hold right now, according to a recent press release. So far this year SCRAPS has handled 2,020 cats, which is 325 more than at the same point last year.

Anyone with room in their homes and hearts are welcome to visit the SCRAPS shelter to adopt a new cat, the press release said.

SCRAPS wants to remind people the best ways to keep the pet population down are to have cats spayed or neutered and to keep cats inside and licensed.
