East Central center to note 30 years

East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St., is holding a 30th anniversary celebration Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event is free to the public.

Cake and ice cream will be served beginning at 4 p.m.

Photos and other memorabilia from early Spokane will be on display. Community members are encouraged to share their own photos and memories.

The program, which will begin at 5, will include presentations by Mayor Dennis Hession, and other city leaders. Former community center Director Ivan Bush and current Director Diane Jackson also will speak.
