Astros 7, Reds 3: At Cincinnati, Aubrey Huff’s bases-loaded single highlighted a seventh-inning rally, and Houston defeated Cincinnati to avoid a sweep.
Giants 7, Diamondbacks 6: At San Francisco, rookie Eliezer Alfonzo delivered the go-ahead hit for the second straight game and Pedro Feliz ended a 0-for-15 stretch with a tying two-run double in the seventh, lifting San Francisco over Arizona.
Phillies 2, Cubs 1: At Chicago, Jimmy Rollins doubled in the go-ahead run with two outs in the ninth and Philadelphia beat Chicago. Ryan Howard’s 44th homer in the sixth put the Phillies ahead 1-0.
Brewers 7, Rockies 1: At Milwaukee, Ben Sheets threw seven sharp innings and Prince Fielder drove in two runs to lead Milwaukee over Colorado.
Pirates 5, Braves 4: At Atlanta, Freddy Sanchez hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh as Pittsburgh defeated Atlanta.
Marlins 9, Nationals 7: At Miami, Miguel Cabrera homered twice and drove in four runs, helping Florida complete a three-game sweep of Washington.
