Baseball/Softball

Aug. 31: Tryout for the Spokane Cruisers 12-U Girls fastpitch team. Meet at Franklin Park at 5:30 p.m. Info: 448-7272.

Basketball

Sign up: Spokane AAU Basketball league for grades 4-8. Registration packets are available at 601 W. Riverside, Suite 206. The deadline for team registration is Sept. 11. Late team registration will take place Sept. 13-19. Info: 624-2414.

Sept. 10: Spokane Stars Basketball Skills Camp for girls at University High School. Cost is $15 per session. Stars president Ron Adams is the director and will be assisted by current and former Stars players and weekly by players and coaches from different Northwest college women’s teams. Canoeing/Kayaking

Sept. 5: Women’s Lake Kayak Clinic. Will teach women the basics of kayaking, including paddle strokes, water currents and safety tips. Clinic runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday in September. Cost is $80. Info: (208) 769-7809.
