Phillies 4, Mets 3: At New York, Ryan Howard hit his league-leading 45th home run as Philadelphia ended New York’s seven-game winning streak.

Rockies 13, Padres 5: At Denver, Jeff Francis overcame a rough start as Colorado snapped a six-game losing streak in a win over San Diego.

Cardinals 2, Cubs 0: At St. Louis, Jeff Suppan pitched shutout ball into the eighth inning and St Louis defeated Chicago.

Giants 4, Reds 1: At San Francisco, Matt Morris hit a key two-run double in the eighth inning and pitched a three-hitter, lifting San Francisco past Cincinnati. Diamondbacks 9, Dodgers 7 (15): At Phoenix, Orlando Hudson’s two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the 15th inning sent Arizona past Los Angeles.
