Spokane Valley now has a massage supercenter.

The 12th Avenue Health and Wellness Clinic recently opened, and features eight massage therapists working out of six offices, providing massage services ranging from clinical needs to relaxation therapy.

Chiropractor Jacob Fisk, who with his father, Michael, works out of South Pines Chiropractic at 12th and Pines, said massage helps speed people’s recovery after accidents.

“Patients who are injured and under the care of chiropractors and massage therapists seem to recover very quickly,” Fisk said.

The massage center has all eight therapists working under the same roof. A man built the home for his wife, who had multiple sclerosis, which meant the facility was already up to code for wheelchair access, Fisk said.

He purchased the building in January, and now can refer some of his chiropractor clients to the new center, just out the back door.

The center is packed with experience, Fisk said. The fewest number of years of experience any one therapist has is seven, he said. One therapist has 18 years of experience.

The new center has been busy since its grand opening last week, he said. Massages often are covered by major insurance plans, Fisk said.

Though the center focuses on clinical massage, it can also host relaxation massage, he said. Appointments must be made with each therapist.
