Islanders jump into first place
Viktor Kozlov put the New York Islanders in first place with the first four-goal game of his NHL career.
Kozlov’s scoring spree offset Brendan Shanahan’s 18th hat trick and helped the Islanders take the Atlantic Division lead with a 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday night in New York.
Miroslav Satan and Chris Simon each had a goal and assist for the Islanders, and Arron Asham also scored.
Kings 3, Ducks 2: At Anaheim, Calif., Dan Cloutier stopped 27 shots, Alexander Frolov scored twice and Los Angeles beat Anaheim.
