Tomlinson running with history

San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson on Sunday joined Eric Dickerson as the second NFL player to reach 1,200 yards rushing in each of his first six NFL seasons.
Tomlinson, who entered the game against the Bills with 1,146 yards, surpassed 1,200 with a 51-yard touchdown run with 66 seconds left in the first quarter. Dickerson set the standard from 1983-89 with the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis.
The touchdown, which put the Chargers up 10-0 on Buffalo, was Tomlinson’s 25th of the year, he would later get one more, inching him within two of matching the single-season record set by the Seattle Seahawks’ Shaun Alexander last season.
Tomlinson has scored a TD in 10 of San Diego’s 12 games this season and has scored 18 times in his past six games.
His 28 scores, including two passing, account for more than half of the Chargers’ 45 this season.
Manning joins Marino
Peyton Manning completed an 18-yard pass to Ben Utecht, putting him over 3,000 yards passing for a ninth straight season and tying him with Dan Marino for the second-longest streak in NFL history.
The Colts quarterback went into the game with Tennessee 36 yards short of 3,000, and his fourth completion on his fifth attempt to Utecht gave him 38 yards. Only Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers has strung together more consecutive 3,000-yard passing seasons with 14.
Broncos’ Wilson sprains neck
Broncos linebacker Al Wilson sprained his neck and was carted off the field and taken to a hospital by ambulance after a fourth-quarter hit against Seattle.
Wilson was attempting to recover a fumble when he crashed headfirst into the pile of players. Wilson briefly sat up twice and then went back down.
Several teammates gathered around him near the Broncos’ sideline while the medical staff immobilized him and placed him on a stretcher.
After the game a team spokesman said Wilson was moving all his extremities and was taken to Sky Ridge Medical Center as a precaution.
Brown’s Frye injures wrist
Browns quarterback Charlie Frye may have broken his right wrist during a win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Frye got hurt on Cleveland’s first offensive series when he braced himself while being knocked down. He stayed in and threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Braylon Edwards before being taken to the locker room for X-rays.
Browns coach Romeo Crennel said Frye will be evaluated today at the Cleveland Clinic and the club will have more information on his injury after more tests are completed.
