Green for you, foster kids

» Christmas just isn't complete without a fragrant tree for the living room, something the children of Hutton Settlement are counting on. They have been tending trees with an eye for the time when they could be cut and sold to raise money. The Christmas trees are priced between $15 and $40 and can be purchased from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

» The sale will run through Dec. 23. The Hutton Settlement, a group foster home, is at 9907 E. Wellesley Ave. (enter on Upriver Drive). The kids will help sell the trees, so head on out and see whom your purchase will benefit.

It's derby time

» The Lilac City Rollergirls will host a roller derby, live music and an auction to benefit Cancer Patient Care. The event will run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. today at Roller Valley, 9415 E. Fourth Ave. Admission is $10, so grab a friend and have some old-fashioned roller derby fun.

» Cancer Patient Care assists people with cancer who need emergency help with items such as nutritional supplements and gasoline gas to get to doctor appointments.
