Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 53 points and the Los Angeles Lakers rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the Houston Rockets 112-101 in double overtime Friday night in Los Angeles.

The Lakers trailed until the final 1 1/2 minutes of regulation, then squeaked out a back-and-forth first overtime before scoring the first nine points of the second OT to pull away.

Bryant’s 13th career game of 50 or more points came against Yao Ming, who led the Rockets with 35 points, 15 rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots.

Bryant made 14 of 16 free throws, added 10 rebounds and eight assists in the Lakers’ first overtime game of the season.

Suns 105, Warriors 101: At Phoenix, Boris Diaw’s fifth career triple-double helped the Suns run their winning streak to 13 games – one shy of the club record – with a victory over Golden State.

Trail Blazers 109, Clippers 99: At Portland, Zach Randolph had 26 points and seven rebounds and Travis Outlaw added 15 points as the Trail Blazers beat visiting Los Angeles.

Pacers 112, Knicks 96: At Indianapolis, Danny Granger scored a career-high 25 points and Indiana hit a season-high 12 3-pointers in a victory over New York.

Wizards 106, Heat 95: At Washington, Caron Butler scored a season-high 30 points and had nine rebounds, Gilbert Arenas had 27 points and Antawn Jamison added 22 points and a career-high five blocked shots to lead the Wizards past Miami.

Raptors 90, Nets 78: At Toronto, T.J. Ford had 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to lead the Raptors to a win over New Jersey – their second straight without Chris Bosh.

Celtics 119, Nuggets 114: At Boston, Paul Pierce scored 38 points and Tony Allen added a career-high 30 to help the Celtics extend their winning streak to four with a victory over Denver, which received a season-high 42 points from Carmello Anthony.

Hawks 97, Grizzlies 88: At Memphis, Tenn., Zaza Pachulia scored 22 points, Speedy Claxton added 19 points and 11 assists and Atlanta ruined Pau Gasol’s season debut by beating the Grizzlies.

Mavericks 93, 76ers 79: At Dallas, Jason Terry scored 18 points to lead six Dallas players in double figures and the Mavericks built a big early lead en route to a victory over the 76ers, who suffered their 10th straight loss.

Bulls 117, Bucks 111: At Chicago, Ben Wallace grabbed a season-high 27 rebounds and added 10 points to lead the Bulls to a victory over Milwaukee.

Kings 98, Jazz 97: At Salt Lake City, Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 21 points, including a 3-pointer in the final minute, and Sacramento rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat Utah.
