UConn still unbeaten, but yet to hit the road
Jeff Adrien had 16 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night to lead the Connecticut Huskies to an 84-41 victory over Coppin State in Hartford, Conn., extending the Huskies’ home winning streak to 30 games.
The Huskies (11-0) begin Big East conference play Saturday at West Virginia, their first road trip.
Ethan Kennedy had 12 points, all in the first half, for Coppin State (2-10), which has lost 10 games on the road.
(4) Wisconsin 98, Gardner-Webb 40: At Madison, Wis., Brian Butch had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Badgers (13-1) to a lopsided victory over the Bulldogs (2-9).
The Badgers also got 13 points from Kammron Taylor, 11 from Alando Tucker and 10 from Jason Bohannon.
Ricky McPhee led the Bulldogs with 17 points.
(17) LSU 71, Wright State 45: At Baton Rouge, La., Glen Davis matched his season high with 26 points and the Tigers (8-3) beat the Raiders (5-6) in a first-round game of the Hispanic College Fund Classic.
DaShaun Wood had 17 points to lead the Raiders. LSU held Wood to one field goal in the second half.
