World in brief: Helicopter crash off coast claims 6
A helicopter carrying natural gas workers crashed off the northwest English coast Wednesday night, killing six people and leaving the only other person aboard missing, authorities said.
The bodies of the six victims were recovered from the cold waters of Morecambe Bay east of the Isle of Man, Lancashire police and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency said.
Two air force helicopters, two lifeboats and other vessels searched for the seventh person, but winds of more than 25 mph were hampering the effort, said Coastguard spokesman Jim Paton.

Angry travelers get off bus, block jet
Brazilian travelers incensed about an overbooked flight stormed a tarmac Wednesday to prevent a commercial jet from taking off.
The protest happened after a group of about 30 travelers with tickets to the northeastern city of Recife waited more than 40 minutes aboard a bus outside a Tam Linhas Aereas SA jet at one of Sao Paulo’s two airports, Brazil’s Globo TV reported.
When the crew closed the jet’s door, some of the passengers got off the bus in an attempt to stop the plane from leaving. Police removed the protesters from the tarmac, but the flight was delayed for more than two hours.

Oil magnate target in poisoning probe
Russian prosecutors said Wednesday they are investigating the possible role of a former owner of the Yukos oil company in the radiation poisoning death of one-time Russian intelligence agent Alexander Litvinenko.
They did not explain the basis for the allegations against Leonid Nevzlin, who now lives in exile in Israel.
Russia has unsuccessfully pressed for the extradition of a number of Kremlin critics in recent years, including Nevzlin and tycoon Boris Berezovsky, who lives in Britain.
Nevzlin told the AP last month that Litvinenko had given him a document related to Yukos. He said he believed the poisoning death was tied to Litvinenko’s investigations of the Russian government’s dismantling of the company.
