Sacramental living will be topic of GU talk
The John Paul II Fellowship is presenting Father Santan Pinto Monday at 7 p.m. at Gonzaga University in O’Malley Hall below St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone Ave.
Pinto will speak on the topic, “Why Roman Catholic? The Need for the Sacraments in our Lives.”
The talk will cover the mystery and significance of the Sacraments in our lives, how they nourish a faith-filled life, and how sacramental living is a vehicle to holiness.
The event is geared toward teenagers and young adults, but all ages are welcome.

Christian artists group
Judy Mandeville, an adjunct professor at Whitworth College, is assembling a group of Christian writers, actors, chefs, musicians and other artists to form Artesian, a multiethnic guild of Spokane-area Christian artists.
The group’s goal is to use members’ gifts to help raise awareness of such issues as domestic violence, addiction, discrimination, poverty and mental illness.
There will be an informational meeting about the guild Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2 W. Third Ave.

Church tour
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington St., is offering a tour of its Byzantine-style church Tuesday at 7 p.m.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the history, architecture and the faith of early Christianity.

Study groups, classes
“ The Institute on the Constitution is offering an eight-week study group to discuss Christianity and the law of the land Monday nights at 6:45 p.m. at the Shilo Inn, 923 E. Third Ave.
The first class met on Jan. 30, but new students are welcome at every class.
The group will discuss topics including “A Biblical View of History,” “Law and Government” and “The Religious Beliefs of the Founding Fathers.”
The course is free but will offer a manual for $25, one per household. The manual is not required.

“ Ancient Traditions Community Church, 1928 E. Rich Ave., is offering classes in Breathing Chakra Guided Meditation on the first Monday of each month beginning Monday.
The church also is offering a class on “Befriending Oneself” Tuesdays through Feb. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The class will be in the Buddhist tradition and will include meditation.
A donation of $5 is suggested for either class.

Mothers of Preschoolers
Colbert Presbyterian Church, 4211 E. Colbert Road, Colbert, has chartered a Mothers of Preschoolers group that meets on the first Friday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The program is for mothers, and there also is a program for the children.
