Chiefs set to play 3 games

The Spokane Chiefs will play three Western Hockey League games in four nights, beginning with today’s 7 p.m. game at the Arena against Kelowna.

Spokane (20-26-4-2, 46 points) is in last place of the five-team U.S. Division of the Western Conference, one point behind Portland (47) and four behind Tri-City (50) with 20 games left in the regular season.

After tonight’s game, Spokane travels to Everett for a Friday night game with the division leaders. On Saturday night, the Chiefs play host to Kamloops.

The Chiefs will be without defenseman Phil Magistrale, who injured his knee over the weekend and is out 3-5 weeks, but rookie Jared Spurgeon will return from a concussion. Forward Myles Stoesz may face a suspension from the league for a hit last Saturday night, but no ruling has been issued yet.
