QM2 passengers offered refunds

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

Passengers on the Queen Mary 2 called off a planned sit-in to protest a last-minute itinerary shift after the cruise operator agreed to offer full refunds.

Travelers on the world’s largest and most expensive passenger liner were upset over a decision by Cunard to cut stops in Barbados, St. Kitts and Salvador, Brazil, to make up for time lost due to a damaged motor.

A sit-in by passengers who threatened to barricade themselves in their cabins rather than end their trips as scheduled in Rio de Janeiro was called off after Cunard said it would give the refunds.
