‘Let’s vote ‘Yes’ on March 14’

The Spokesman-Review

I want to take this opportunity to encourage the voters in the West Valley School District to vote “Yes” on the three-year replacement maintenance and operations levy and capital projects levy on March 14. These levies are replacement levies, so we will not see an increase in taxes.

Almost 20 percent of the West Valley School District’s budget is provided from the maintenance and operation levy. We need to continue to come together and support the West Valley School District.

The West Valley School District has been an important and positive factor in my children’s lives. My husband and I appreciate the quality education and caring our two daughters have received these past two years. We moved to Spokane from Western Washington in 2004 and transferred our daughters from private education to public education as a result of that move. We have been very pleased with their schools: Centennial Middle School and West Valley High School for our older daughter, and Orchard Center Elementary for our younger daughter. I want to say thank you to the teachers and administration of these schools for their good work.

Let’s vote “Yes” on March 14.
