Man held in Highway 3 shooting

Shoshone County sheriff’s officers arrested a man Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of shooting another man in the inner thigh and buttocks.

Lt. Steve Harris identified the suspect as Thelbert Earl O’Kelley, whose age was unavailable. The victim, Charles Leonard Piper, 43, was hospitalized.

Harris said Piper was shot twice on Highway 3 after a short argument over a van. No other information was immediately available.
