Project CDA locked down

The Spokesman-Review

Project CDA alternative high school was locked down for about 40 minutes Tuesday after Coeur d’Alene police said a man was resisting arrest nearby.

Theodore E. Harper, 20, of Coeur d’Alene was wanted on probation violation for grand theft and burglary, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Christie Wood. When police went to a home near 7th Street and Locust Avenue to arrest Harper, the woman who answered the door said he wasn’t coming out, Wood said. The woman left the home and locked the door, Wood said.

Officers waited outside while police obtained a search warrant to enter, Wood said. They then went in through the back door, and Harper surrendered, she said. He is now at the Kootenai County Jail.

Project CDA students saw police activity and reported their concern to school staff, district business manager Steve Briggs said. The district locked down the school around 8:45 a.m.
