Tech Q&A The Spokesman-Review

Q: My keyboard is driving me crazy. There is a significant lag between the time that I press a key and the character appears on the screen. Can that be fixed?

A: You may have a corrupt keyboard driver. Delete and reinstall it. Click Start, Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. Find Keyboards. Click the “+” sign. Right-click your keyboard and select Uninstall. Restart your computer. It should install the correct driver. Other possible causes: If you’re using a USB keyboard, try a different USB port. If you’re using a wireless one, check the batteries. And if your keyboard has its own software, tweak its response settings.
