Jazz make it two straight victories over Kobe-less Lakers

Associated Press

Andrei Kirilenko had 14 points, nine assists and seven blocks, and the Utah Jazz won their fifth straight with a 90-80 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

Kirilenko also had six steals and eight rebounds as the Jazz swept the home-and-home series with the Lakers, who were without Kobe Bryant as he served a two-game suspension for throwing an elbow in a game last week’s game against Memphis.

The Lakers have lost five straight.

Mavericks 95, Trail Blazers 81: Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry each scored 22 points to lead Dallas over visiting Portland.

Josh Howard added 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Mavericks stretched their winning streak against the Trail Blazers to seven games.

Raptors 108, Hawks 97: Mike James scored 28 points and sparked Toronto’s fourth-quarter comeback in the Raptors’ victory at Atlanta.

The win gave Toronto its first three-game winning streak of the season and five wins in its last seven games.

Rockets 123, Wizards 111: Tracy McGrady matched his season high with 38 points, and Houston broke a five-game losing streak with a road win over Washington.

The Rockets, averaging a league-low 87.6 points entering the game, set a season high for field-goal percentage (55.1).

76ers 111, Kings 98: Chris Webber had 20 points and 16 rebounds against his former team, and Philadelphia beat the Kings in Sacramento, Calif.

It was Webber’s second game in Sacramento since being traded by the Kings last February. He is still fondly remembered, evidenced by the standing ovation he received at the game.

Grizzlies 104, Warriors 94: At Memphis, Tenn., Eddie Jones scored 23 points, Pau Gasol added 21 points and a career-high nine assists, and Memphis won its fourth straight with a victory over Golden State.

Pistons 108, Magic 99: Chauncey Billups scored a career-high 37 points and Richard Hamilton added 25 as Detroit beat visiting Orlando.
