CdA Charter Academy plans fund-raiser
The Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy is offering a night of dinner, live music, gift bags and an auction in return for support of its capital improvements fund.
Though it is a public school with open enrollment, the academy cannot levy money for its buildings because its students come from all over North Idaho.
That’s why it’s holding this fund-raising event at 5 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. As the Coeur d’Alene area has been growing, so too has interest in the charter school, said parent Suzan Ward. The academy wants to expand its building and add a science and technology facility.
“They’re our future employees, our future business leaders,” Ward said of the students, pointing out that almost 100 percent of academy graduates seek higher education.
Tickets are $35 and can be bought at the academy, located at 711 W. Kathleen Ave. in Coeur d’Alene. For more information, call 676-1667.
