Braves, Flyers score hockey wins

Ryan Skier made 34 saves, allowing just one third-period goal, as the Spokane Braves knocked off the Nelson Leafs 3-1 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action Saturday in front of 537 at the Nelson Civic Centre Arena in Nelson, B.C.

Brandon Lassiter, who also finished with an assist, Josh Pickens and Ryno Linder all scored for the Braves.

•Brett Kellogg had a pair of goals, and Isaac Hurt and A.J. Barnett also scored as the Spokane Flyers beat Butte 4-1 in Northern Pacific Hockey League action at Eagles Ice-A-Rena.

Zach Lelwica made 25 saves to earn the win for the Flyers.
