Sit back and enjoy the Zags

It took great courage for Robert Bierman (Letters, Jan. 1, “Zags haven’t played up to potential”) to criticize the Gonzaga men’s basketball team in a Spokane newspaper, in an area in which Zags fever abounds.

I also think he needs to remember these are young college students, not multi-million-dollar professionals.

It must be a double-edged sword for coach Mark Few and the team to be so beloved and revered, because with all the adulation comes fan expectation of perfection.

Hey, Mr. Bierman … take a big breath and enjoy watching this amazing team with the realization that no matter how hard they try, they sometimes might not be able to fulfill your Utopian dreams.
