An early hold on first place is on the line Friday as Colfax’s girls basketball team heads to Freeman. Colfax (9-3, 1-0) beat Newport 60-27 last Friday behind Meagan Teade (12 points, 11 rebounds). Freeman (10-1, 1-0) got 17 points from Jessie DePell in a 61-43 win over Kettle Falls. On the boys’ side, Colfax (9-2, 1-0) heads to Freeman (7-4, 0-1) Friday and Kettle Falls (12-2, 1-0) takes its four-game winning streak into Northport (2-9, 1-6) tonight.
