Swimming team holding tryouts

The Spokane Area Swimming group is looking for a few good swimmers for its winter swim team. Those interesting in trying out should be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke. It’s open to all youth ages 6 to 16.

Tryouts will be every Monday at 5 p.m. at the Valley YMCA, 2421 N. Discovery Place, through Feb. 20. There will also be tryouts every Tuesday at 5:25 p.m. at the Shadle Park Pool at Longfellow and Ash through Feb. 21. The tryouts begin next week.
