Faurholt leads Idaho to win over Nevada
Emily Faurholt scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting as Idaho took a 45-25 lead into halftime and cruised to a 69-56 basketball win over Nevada in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday in Moscow.
Leilani Mitchell added 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Idaho (6-8, 2-1).
Brandi Fitzgerald led Nevada (3-11, 0-3) with 15 points.
•Pepperdine freshman Jessica Ross blocked a layup with 3 seconds left and Katy Ridenour missed a desperation jumper as Gonzaga rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to force overtime, but fell 59-58 to Pepperdine in West Coast Conference action in Malibu, Calif.
Ashley Anderson and Stephanie Hawk had 12 points to lead GU (7-11, 2-1), while Jasmane Clarendon had 13 points for the Waves (5-11, 2-1).
•Eshaya Murphy had game-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds as Southern Cal routed Washington State 81-60 in Pac-10 action in Pullman.
Murphy went 7 of 15 from the floor, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range for the Trojans (11-5, 5-2).
Amanda DuRocher led the way with 13 points for the Cougars (6-9, 0-6), while Kate Benz added 10 points.
•Cameo Hicks had 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as Washington held off UCLA 96-75 in Pac-10 action in Seattle.
Hicks scored six points during an important 14-5 run to open the second half for UW (12-3, 5-1).
Husky senior Kayla Burt, a senior guard with a history of heart problems, left the game early in the first half when her defibrillator activated. She was in no pain and alert when she was taken to the hospital.
Nikki Blue led UCLA (9-7, 4-3) with 24 points.
