Star Wars fans of all ages are invited to a special game day event at Barnes & Noble today. Guest Drew Spilker will speak on collecting Star Wars miniatures and playing battle games. If you’re really into light sabers and Jedis, stop by and learn how to re-create your favorite Star Wars scenes – the perfect way to spend time between watching the movies.
The event begins at 2 p.m. at the book store,
15310 E. Indiana Ave.
No tutu required
If you have a young girl looking for something to do Monday, check out the Day of Dance workshop at The Academy of Dance, 14214 E. Sprague Ave. The workshop will give girls ages 8-11 an introduction to tap, ballet, jazz, costume design and stage makeup. Sponsored by the Girl Scouts, the event will run from
9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It might be a good way for girls to check out the basics of dance without having to sign up for classes. The cost is $25, or $15 for registered Girl Scouts. Call 747-8091, ext. 216 for more information.
