Two men arrested after robbery, kidnapping in Montana
Two Spokane men were arrested Friday afternoon near Libby, Mont., on suspicion of kidnapping and robbing three victims in Libby.
The Lincoln County, Mont., Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Christopher Clark Percy, 22, and Robert Anthony Cook, 20. Both were booked on two counts of robbery and three counts of aggravated kidnapping.
Information on the crime was sketchy Friday evening.
Detective Shane Hight said officers were called to a home in Libby shortly after 3 p.m. when two people who had been tied up managed to free themselves. The victims reported that a third victim had been abducted in a vehicle.
Hight said the victims who were left in the house gave a description of the suspects and their vehicle, and officers stopped the westbound car about 30 miles from Libby on U.S. Highway 2 near the Idaho border. Cook and Percy were arrested without incident, and the third victim was freed, Hight said.
The detective described the victims as a man about 50 years old and two younger adults, both about 18 to 20. He said the younger adults were a woman, who had a familial relationship to the older man, and her boyfriend. The young adults had been visiting in the older man’s home.
It wasn’t immediately clear which of the victims the abductors took with them.
Hight said Percy and Cook had been in the Libby area about two days and had known the victims briefly.
