Tech Q & A
Q: I just sent an e-mail that I immediately regretted and want to retrieve it. Help!
A: Hit the recall button. The recall feature in Microsoft Outlook allows the sender to delete the message from the recipient’s mailbox before it is read. To do it: Go to Sent Items, open the sent message and choose “Recall this message” from the Actions menu. But hurry. You can’t recall a message if it is moved to a different folder once it reaches the recipient’s inbox. This happens when recipients set up their inbox to automatically move any messages from you into a separate folder. The feature also works only if the recipient is also using a Microsoft Exchange Server account, meaning it won’t work on Web-based e-mail like Google’s Gmail or Yahoo Mail.
