Page Ahead – nonprofit children’s literacy program that promotes reading activities and provides new books for at-risk children needs volunteers to help with literacy nights, book distributions and organizing book drives. For more information, contact Sarah Johnson at 789-3548.
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery – is looking for volunteers to work with children up to age 6 who are at risk of abuse and neglect. Volunteers must be at least 18-years of age, commit to three hours per week for six months, complete an application, screening and training process. The Wishing Star Foundation – needs a volunteer to assist the development coordinator with a variety of projects and office work for 5-10 hours a week. Experience with data entry, filing and phones is requested. For more information, contact Holly or Jodi at 744-3411.
Goodwill Industries – is looking for mentors to assist with the Planning Action for Youth Success program. The program offers low-income youth between the ages of 17-21 with the opportunity to gain training, paid work experience, and job placement services. Washington state background check is required.
