CdA seeks input on public art

From staff reports

Coeur d’Alene is having a public workshop Monday so residents can help the city create a public art master plan.

The city, along with the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission and Lake City Development Corp. – the city’s urban renewal agency – want a comprehensive plan that will provide policies and procedures to ensure there are high quality public art projects in the community.

In 1999, Coeur d’Alene became the first Idaho city to create a way to fund public art. The city now dedicates 1.33 percent of the total cost of all eligible capital improvement projects to fund art in public spaces.

The 5:30 p.m. workshop is at Lake City High School, 6101 N. Ramsey Road.

People can also complete an online survey regarding the master plan by going to www.barneyandworth.com/artsurvey.

To RSVP for the workshop or find out more information, call Steve Anthony at (208) 769-2249.
