Stillar leads Lakeside to top of Great Northern
In a matchup of the only remaining undefeated teams in the Great Northern League, Lakeside came from behind to pull off a 40-38 victory over host Pullman on Tuesday night.
Kelsey Stillar notched 23 points and hit 6 of 7 free throws to lead the Eagles (10-4, 6-0), who outscored Pullman 25-18 in the second half. Jamie Thornton totaled 16 points and nine rebounds for the Greyhounds (10-4, 5-1).
In other GNL action, Riverside held Colville to 13 points in the first three quarters en route to a 47-23 win at Colville. Felicia Clark scored 11 points for the Rams (6-7, 2-4), and Jordan Emmil paced the Indians (0-14, 0-7) with eight.
•Curlew held Republic to less than 10 points in the first three quarters then withstood a 17-13 fourth-quarter rally to a 44-40 Panorama League win at Curlew (13-2, 10-1). Amanda Grumbach scored 14 points for the victorious Cougars, and Karissa Lehn added 14 for the Tigers (6-10, 3-7). … Samantha Flett had 16 points, 13 rebounds and six assists as Wellpinit rolled to a 60-44 win over visiting Columbia. Andrea Ford scored 20 points, and Chanel Ford added 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Redskins (12-3, 9-2). Jaysana Kemmerer led the Lions (2-13, 2-10) with 15 points. … Melissa Dick scored 14 points as visiting Inchelium (14-2, 10-2) overcame the 31 points of Kaprina Goodwin to post a 73-47 win over Northport. Goodwin finished 17 for 17 from the free-throw line and blocked 12 shots for the Mustangs (1-14, 0-11). … Misty Ostlie led four Cusick players in double digits with 14 points, and the Panthers (12-5, 8-3) beat visiting Selkirk 57-42. Amanda Smith added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Cusick. •Wilbur-Creston went on a 12-2 run to break open a 38-all tie in the fourth quarter to claim a 50-40 Bi-County League win over Almira/Coulee-Hartline at Creston. Maddisen Peterson led the Wildcats (9-5, 8-4) with 22 points, and Kaitlyn Reidt added 13, all in the second half. Timi Winfrey scored 12 points for the Warriors (1-12, 1-11), and Dani Butler added 11.
•Tekoa-Oakesdale held host St. Georges to 24 percent field-goal shooting in a 46-34 non-league win. Casey Smith scored 13 points for the Nighthawks (12-5), who outrebounded the Dragons (11-5) 32-25. Jessee Rouse led St. George’s with 19 points. … Colfax outshot visiting Dayton 40-17 percent from the field and rolled to a 58-37 win. Jordan Harazin notched 17 points, four assists and four steals, and Sadie Lazzarini came off the bench to add 10 points and 10 rebounds for Colfax (14-3). … Colton (12-5) jumped out to a 22-7 first-quarter lead and defeated host Pomeroy 53-33. … Bridget Bower had eight rebounds and five steals to help Garfield-Palouse (6-9) to a 47-32 win at Potlatch.
