Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison, who raised his Division I-leading scoring average to 28.3 points per game, has been named the WCC’s player of the week for the fourth time this season. He averaged 28.5 points and 5.5 rebounds last week. … In scoring 41 points in Monday’s 84-75 win over USF, Morrison moved past Gary Lechman (1965-67) into 11th place on GU’s career scoring list with 1,479 points. He needs 29 more points to bump Rich Evans (1947-50) out the No. 10 spot. … The WCC is the top free-throw shooting conference in the country, hitting 71.5 percent from the foul line. Gonzaga leads the nation, having made 81 percent. … Pepperdine freshman Michael Gerrity continues to lead all WCC newcomers in scoring with an average of 15.0 points per game, but San Francisco’s Armondo Surratt, a junior transfer from Miami, is close behind at 14.7.
