Health-care database available through library
A database dedicated to information on health care recently joined the list of online resources available from the Spokane County Library District, library officials said.
The Health and Wellness Resource Center was added to 17 other databases available at district libraries that cover topics ranging from genealogy to car repair.
All of them can be accessed at any of the 10 library district branches, even by those who do not have a library card. Patrons also can access the databases on the Web at www.scld.org if they have a library card.
The Health and Wellness Resource Center contains full-text articles from 662 sources, according to the Web sites of libraries that offer it.
Topics a curious patron could browse include information on specific drugs, terms in a medical dictionary, newspaper articles on new treatments and a directory of local and national health organizations.
