Another avalanche closes I-90
SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. – On Sunday evening for the second day in a row, avalanches closed Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass, the state Department of Transportation said.
The eastbound and westbound lanes of the state’s main artery through the Cascade Mountains were closed indefinitely at 5:40 p.m. by two avalanches, the department said.
One avalanche fell on the west side of the freeway at mile post 51.
The other fell on the east side of I-90 at mile post 58.
There were no injuries or damage to vehicles, according to the State Patrol.
