EWU candidates visit campus

Darren Hamilton, the athletic director at Chicago State and one of three finalists for the same position at Eastern Washington, will be on campus today and Tuesday.

There will be a public forum today at 3:30 at Showalter Hall, room 109.

Kelly Higgins was on campus last week. Michael McNeely, former A.D. at Indiana, visits campus Wednesday and Thursday with the public forum on Wednesday at the same time and place.

EWU president Dr. Rodolfo Arevalo is expected to make a decision on the A.D. after the three campus visits are complete.

RiverHawks split with Aloha

The Spokane RiverHawks (15-6) split a double-header with the Aloha Knights (12-9) Sunday afternoon at Avista Stadium in West Coast Collegiate League action.

Aloha won the first game 6-1 and Spokane took the second game 7-5.

Mandere wins Hooters 100

John Mandere won Saturday’s Hooters 100 Inland Northwest Superstock Series race at Stateline Speedway.

This was Mandere’s first series win and only his third top-three finish in the last five years.
