Feature creature: Cooper

Kim Lytle Correspondent

It’s hard to figure out sometimes how such great dogs are overlooked for so long. Cooper has been at the shelter since Halloween. His previous owners returned him because he chewed things that weren’t his toys and he needed some training.

Cooper is an adult dog now and his temperament test indicates that he is a Level One dog in all areas, which means he is perfect for a first-time dog owner. He’s had some training since he’s been at the shelter because he “sits” for his treats, walks very nicely on the leash and is very gentle. He would probably be good with kids of any age and he’s good with dogs and cats, too.

Come and meet Cooper at the Humane Society of Spokane, 6607 N. Havana St. The telephone number is 476-5235. Adoption fees are $70 plus the license fee and include neutering and vaccinations. The Humane Society is open seven days a week.
