True standard-size dachshunds are a rarity in these parts. Gigi is a 28-pound pure red gal who is extremely friendly and affectionate and will make a fabulous lap dog and companion. She loves seniors and would be better off in a house with no young children, since too much rough-housing may have contributed to the back injury that brought her to the rescue home. She has healed well and gets along with just a minor hobble now.
