June home sales

June home sales totaled 804. Closed home sales for June of 2006 totaled 804, according to the Multiple Listing Service of the Spokane Association of REALTORS®. Residential sales through the first half of the year continue to lag behind the record sales for the same period a year ago.

The average sale price for June was $196,228, up nearly $10,000 from May. The median price also jumped to $175,100, up $10,100. This price surge disrupted a leveling trend in the recent months.

For the first six months, sales were down 3.8% to 3,487 homes, versus 3,621 in 2005. Year-to-date average sales price is up 19.2% at $188,248, compared to $157,896. Median sales price is up 21% at $168,000, compared to $138,645.
