The Spokesman-Review

A Level III registered sex offender has moved from downtown Spokane to a new address in the 2700 block of East Lincoln Road, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard J. O’Boyle was convicted in Spokane County in 1999 of two counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes, according to a sheriff’s press release.

The crimes involved a 7-year-old and a 13-year-old girl.

He was convicted of indecent liberties with 3-year-old and 4-year-old victims in 1978.

O’Boyle is white, 5 feet 7, 187 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

He is not wanted by police at this time; authorities are providing this information only to keep the community informed.

Another ATM stolen from store

For the second time this year, an ATM has been stolen from the Fairfield One Stop convenience store, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

On Tuesday night, a burglar kicked in the back door of the store, pried the machine loose from its bolts in the floor, carted it off, tore it open and stole the cash inside, according to a sheriff’s press release.

The machine was found abandoned on Cahill Road just north of Keeney.

An ATM was stolen from the store on Jan. 30.

People with information about the burglary are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (509) 242-TIPS.

Tips offered in arson string

A series of arsons in the Logan neighborhood has prompted Secret Witness to offer a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the arsonist.

Four fires on detached garages have occurred there in the past two weeks, two on July 14 and one each on July 19 and on Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the nonprofit organization at (509) 327-5111.

Tipsters don’t need to give their name, but they should use a code name or number.

Police seek help recovering cello

Police are hoping to get a lead on a cello that was stolen from a woman’s garage during the past month, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The $250 cello, stolen from the garage of her home in the 5800 block of South Regal Street, was taken between June 26 and Monday, according to a sheriff’s press release.

The gold-colored cello in a honey-colored soft leather case had a lot of sentimental value to the woman, deputies reported.

Deputies ask people with information regarding the burglary to call them at (509) 242-TIPS.
