Fire believed to be electrical
An electrical fire Friday evening caused about $125,000 damage to a College Hill apartment building in Pullman.
Fire officials said quick action helped save two neighboring buildings that were only five feet from the damaged structure.
A renter told authorities he was barbecuing on his deck around 7 p.m. when he saw smoke pouring from the bedroom of his apartment.
Residents who were home when the fire started safely escaped the burning building.
Pullman Fire Investigator Tony Nuttman said the fire started near a bedroom closet where several cords were plugged into a power strip, according to a press release.
