Beauty school goes to the dogs, cats!
The students and instructors at Total Cosmetology Training Center, a full-service teaching facility located in north Spokane, are teaming up with the Spokane Humane Society to promote pet adoptions and pet food donations.
The skilled folks from the TCTC are on a mission to help the less fortunate dogs and cats in the Spokane area. In the process, they’re going to help you look good – so everybody comes out a winner!
How it Works
Call the center to set up an appointment between now and June 15. Bring a 10-pound bag of pet food or some pet supplies along with you. For each donation you bring you receive $5 off your service. A haircut usually runs $7, but with your bag of food, you’ll pay only $2. If you want a manicure too, also a $7 service, bring along another donation and pay $2 for that as well. How about a free brow wax? Donate some pet supplies and the usual $5-service is free.
Instructor Kristine Shimmin said a large group of students and instructors gather on Mondays and head to the Humane Society to hand over the collected donations. They also spend a couple of hours pampering the pets awaiting adoption. They wash and walk the dogs, comb the cats and make sure all the animals are getting an extra dose of TLC.
Take some time this week to pamper yourself. Round up some pet supplies, call the Total Cosmetology Center to make an appointment and you’ll be well on your way to looking good and doing good!
