Tyrel Anderson’s work ethic pays off
Tyrel Anderson understands the work ethic.
He tried out for the Liberty football team as an unlikely 99-pound freshman.
Hard work, perseverance and a growth spurt paid off.
Anderson started for the Lancers for the past two years. He’s the captain of the baseball team and has lettered in basketball as well.
“I’ve learned great leadership skills from playing sports,” he said, “I’ve been fortunate to have some fantastic coaches.”
Anderson enjoyed growing up in the small community of Spangle.
“Everybody knows you, and you know everybody,” he said. “When I’ve been away, I love coming back. It just feels like home.”
In addition to his sports activities, he has served as this year’s Associated Student Body president and is graduating with honors in the top of his class.
He’s an 18-year member of the Spangle Community Church. His volunteer commitments include teaching vacation Bible school and helping at the Spangle Food Bank.
An avid outdoorsman, Anderson loves to hunt and fish. He caught his first fish at age 3 and shot his first deer at 11.
He plans to attend Spokane Community College this fall to study landscaping and later hopes to transfer to the University of Arizona or Washington State University to major in construction management.
Pursuing these career dreams shouldn’t prove daunting.
Tyrel Anderson already has demonstrated he knows what it takes to succeed: patience and hard work.
