Churches planning summer entertainment for children
As the end of the school year creeps closer, the number of churches scheduling vacation Bible school sessions is increasing. These weeklong sessions typically include games, craft projects and other Bible-based activities to keep children entertained.
• Opportunity Christian Church will host a session June 26 through 30 along with Veradale United Church of Christ and Westminster United Church of Christ. The session is open to children ages 4 through the sixth grade. The theme is “Build a Better World: Africa.”
Children will gather daily from 9 a.m. to noon at OCC, 708 N. Pines Road. The cost is $5 per child or $12 per family. Call the church at 926-3691 for more information or to register.
• Millwood Presbyterian Church will host “Adventure of the Treasure Seekers: Exploring God’s Promises” June 26 through 30. Children ages 4 through the sixth grade will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each day at the church, located at 3223 N. Marguerite Road.

• Ages 3 and up are invited to “Fiesta!” at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2511 S. Pines Road. The session will be from 9 a.m. to noon June 26 through 30. Children will sing songs, play games, eat snacks and learn Bible stories. Call 926-7966 for more information or to register.
• Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, will host a “Fiesta!” VBS of its own from June 26-30. Children age 3 through the fifth grade are invited to attend the classes from 9 a.m. to noon daily. There will be plenty of crafts, snacks, Bible stories and fun.

Spring concert
Spokane Valley Assembly of God Church will host a spring concert performed by its worship choir and orchestra at 6 p.m. Sunday. The church is at 15618 E. Broadway Ave.
Summer schedule
Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, is shifting its worship schedule for the summer. The Sunday worship service will now begin at 9:30 a.m.
