Flooding hits some homes in Spangle
A few houses in Spangle were flooded Saturday night, forcing several residents from their homes.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department reported that rain caused homes along Second Street to flood; in some instances, the water reached porch level.
One woman, who was wheelchair-bound, was helped from her home, deputies said in a news release. The American Red Cross helped relocate displaced residents.
The town’s north entrance was closed temporally because of water and mud on Old U.S. Highway 195.
The water began to recede from roadways about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
