Theresa Daniel has been hired as a structural engineer at Integrus Architecture. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo.

Oxyfresh has hired Steve Wood as vice president of finance and operations. He was previously the controller and business information manager at Pyrotek Inc.

Jason Barthell has been hired as a real estate agent in the new downtown Spokane office of Century 21 Beutler & Associates.

Storhaug Engineering has hired Erick Roth as a licensed professional land surveyor. He has over 12 years of experience and previously worked at Storhaug as a survey coordinator.

Daniel Remmick has been hired at Welch Comer & Associates as a project engineer. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Idaho and has six years of experience in water and sewer projects.

The Spokane Racquet Club has hired Steve Clark as director of tennis. He was previously the head coach at the University of California, Irvine for 17 years.

HollisterStier has hired Kandi Valentine as a small-volume parenteral supervisor. She previously worked at General Dynamics and holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Eastern Washington University.

Ted Bernards has been hired as a structural engineer at Coffman Engineers. He recently earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga University.

HollisterStier has hired David Gelber as a process development manager. Gelber holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mars Hill College, N.C., and previously worked at Abbot Laboratories in Rocky Mount, N.C.

James West has been hired as an account executive at Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living Magazine. West previously served as the mayor of Spokane.

Mary Ritter Heitkemper has been promoted to director of the Career Center on the Gonzaga University campus. She has been there for 10 years and has been serving as the interim director at the center for the 2005-2006 school year.

Windermere Real Estate in Liberty Lake has promoted Stu VanZyverden to sales manager. He has been an associate in the office for 10 years.

Robin Jons, the chief operating officer at TechGroup Inc., has been promoted to partner. She holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Michigan State University.

ALSC Architects has promoted Ken Murphy to associate principal. He has worked as a project designer and a manager for the company and holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Montana State University. Murphy has been with the company since 1992.

Katie Freeman has been promoted to executive chef at the Spokane Airport Ramada & Indoor Waterpark. She previously worked as a sous chef at the hotel.

Desautel Hege Communications has promoted Sarah Taylor to account executive. Taylor previously worked as an account coordinator and has been with the company since January 2004.

Julie Cohen has been promoted to general manager of the Spokane Valley Holiday Inn Express by Sterling Hospitality. She previously worked as the front office manager for the hotel.

Potlatch Corp. has promoted Mark Benson to vice president, public affairs. He previously worked as director of public affairs and has been with the company for over 29 years.

Matthew Andersen, a principal in the law firm of Winston & Cashatt, has been accepted as a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been with the firm since 1980.

Global Credit Union has recognized Adrianne Imada with the Dominic Allessio Employee of the Quarter Award. She worked in the card service department of the East Sprague Branch and has been with the credit union since November 2004.

Bill Scudder and the staff of Old Mission State Park (Cataldo) in Coeur d’Alene have received the Take Pride in Idaho Historic Preservation Award at the Governor’s Conference on Recreation and Tourism.

VCA Peone Pines Animal Hospital, 14747 N. Newport Highway, Mead, has earned accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association. Only 12 percent of small-animal veterinary practices have received this accreditation.

Jean Johnson has been awarded the Gardener O. Hart Faculty Excellence Distinguished Professorship at Washington State University. Johnson is a marketing professor at the school.

APPOINTED/ELECTED

The following Gonzaga University alumni have been appointed to its board of regents: Simon Manning of Piper Jaffray and Co. in San Francisco, Karen Sayre of the law firm Sayre and Sayre, and William Wrigglesworth of Payne Financial Group.

Drew MacAfee has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the Physician Hospital Community Organization by its board of directors. MacAfee has been serving as the interim chief executive officer since October 2005.

Richard Ryan has been elected to president elect of the Optometric Physicians of Washington. Ryan practices at Five Mile Eye Care.
