Look for ‘®’ in REALTOR®
If you are looking for a REALTOR® to help you either find a home to purchase or to sell your home you can find one of these experts who can help you fulfill your objectives.
A REALTOR® can save you time as he or she helps you through the process of buying or selling. Choosing the right person is no different than selecting any professional to help you through the many steps that end in a successful sale or purchase.
•To find one of these guides to help you through the various steps that legally must be done, ask for a recommendation from people you know who have purchased or sold a home recently. People will either recommend or not — that can help you make a very good selection.
•Follow up with that recommendation and call that REALTOR® and get acquainted. How long have they been in real estate sales? Do you get along with this person? What is their sales record? These are just some of the questions that will generally tell you whether you have a dynamite sales person. Referrals from a friend can go a long way toward turning you in the right direction.
•The most important factor in hiring an agent is that you and the prospective agent get along well and work well together. Most sales go well between buyer and seller. Some may not. That’s why it is a good thing to have an expert in your corner if there is a problem to be solved.
•Check the real estate section of The Spokesman-Review and publications that are free at grocery stores citywide. If you find someone of interest, give them a call.
•Another possibility is to tour the neighborhood in which you would like to live and check the “FOR SALE” signs for the names of the REALTORS®. Some specialize in certain areas around the city and have extensive knowledge about the area you like. These REALTORS® who specialize in certain areas generally have answers to questions you already have. They would know that “special area.”
•Regardless of the REALTOR® you choose, it is a very good idea to work with a “guide” through the process. They can save you time by selecting the type of home you will purchase.
•And look for that REALTOR “®” on the agent’s lapel. It tells you that this person subscribes to a code of ethics. And, that is a very good thing. Actually, a REALTOR® is a bargain. They do not get paid unless there is a sale.
